LMS basics

What is the difference between an LMS and e-learning?

Quick answer

E-learning is the activity: learning delivered digitally. An LMS is the software that organizes it — courses, enrolments, schedules, assessments and records. You can produce e-learning without an LMS, but you then lose the structure and reporting an LMS provides.
